Please join us for this free Cyanotype workshop, sponsored by Savannah College of Art and Design!

Explore cyanotype, a historic photographic printing process developed in 1842 that uses light-sensitive chemistry and sunlight to create striking blue-and-white images. Originally embraced by botanists to document plants and algae, cyanotypes continue to inspire contemporary artists and photographers with their distinctive aesthetic and handcrafted nature. Participants will learn the basics of this fascinating process while creating their own cyanotype prints to take home.

Artist Bio

Ashley Jones is an artist and educator based in Greenville, SC. Her photographic practice includes large format photography and alternative processes to explore themes of nature, history, and place. Jones received her M.F.A. and M.A. from the Savannah College of Art and Design and her B.A. from the University of South Florida. Her photographs have been exhibited at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, SCAD Museum of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, the University of South Carolina, and Northern State University.
